The EBU Data Technology Seminar (DTS) is a reference event for operators in the radio and television sector for the in-depth analysis and discussion of technologies related to Artificial Intelligence and data analysis. This year too, Rai contributed significantly to the event, through participation in the Program Committee, moderation of the sessions and scientific presentations proposed by its researchers.

Artificial Intelligence related technologies have quickly become central throughout the radio and television chain and the EBU Data Technology Seminar (DTS) is a reference for operators in the radio and television sector for the in-depth study and discussion of these technologies, applied, in general, to data available in this domain. CRITS contributed to the success of the event, which saw around 200 participants in presence and online, from the creation of the conference programme to the presentation of scientific papers. 

The annual metadata workshop took place in Geneva at the headquarters of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU-UER). RAI CRITS presented three speeches related to the following topics: an approach for the creation of datasets for AI; an information model and related tools developed for the planning and execution of television productions based on the simultaneous and automated use of multiple drones; a dashboard for the integration of AI services for multimedia content analysis.

The annual metadata workshop took place in Geneva at the headquarters of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU-UER). The Centre for Research and Technological Innovation participated by presenting a demonstration of an evaluation framework for Cloud-based Artificial Intelligence serivices, and the work being developed as part of the H2020 MULTIDRONE funded project.

Maurizio Montagnuolo presented a paper entitled “Real Time Semantic Enrichment of Broadcast Content in the Big Data Age” (Maurizio Montagnuolo, Alberto Messina, Nicolò Bidotti, Paolo Platter, Alessio Bosca) at the IEEE International Conference Big data 2017.

The Center for Research and Technological Innovation has attended the 4th Big Data Tech event, which took place in Milan on 12th October. The conference deals with technology and business issues related to the Big Data universe and is sponsored by prestigious industrial brands in the industry. CRIT, in collaboration with AgileLab, presented the experimental developments of the AgileRAI platform, a system for automatic and real-time annotation of video streams.

Maurizio Montagnuolo presented the AgileRAI system, a parallel and scalable framework for real-time video analysis and semantic enrichment.
