The annual metadata workshop took place in Geneva at the headquarters of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU-UER). RAI CRITS presented three speeches related to the following topics: an approach for the creation of datasets for AI; an information model and related tools developed for the planning and execution of television productions based on the simultaneous and automated use of multiple drones; a dashboard for the integration of AI services for multimedia content analysis.

Teche Rai and CRITS win the Excellence in Media Management award at the World Conference on Archives, organized by FIAT / IFTA in Venice. The winning solution of the award consists in a process for the identification and association of the raw materials of the RAI Teche archive to the programs of the Multimedia Catalog based on a visual search technology.

Maurizio Montagnuolo presented a paper entitled “Real Time Semantic Enrichment of Broadcast Content in the Big Data Age” (Maurizio Montagnuolo, Alberto Messina, Nicolò Bidotti, Paolo Platter, Alessio Bosca) at the IEEE International Conference Big data 2017.

Maurizio Montagnuolo presented two papers entitled “An Efficient Visual Search Engine for Cultural Broadcast Archives” and “Applying Natural Language Processing to Speech Transcriptions for Automated Analysis of Educational Video Broadcasts”.
