Introduction to MPEG-21 standards on media contracts and the machine readable representation of audiovisual rights

Media contracts are the documents in which audiovisual content exploitation rights are formally expressed. The MPEG-21 standards Contract Expression Language” (CEL) e “Media Contract Ontology” (MCO) have been developed, with contribution of the Centre for Research and Technological Innovation of RAI, as media contracts electronic formats, in which rights are machine readable so that they are effectively verifiable in the digital world.
