Testing of LTE Broadcast Technology
On occasion of the closing ceremony of EXPO 2015 Rai and TIM have offered experimenting participants to test the potential of the next-generation mobile TV that thanks to TIM’s 4G network allows access to live and on demand high definition content. The participants were able to enjoy the event, with a unique user experience, thanks to the extensive coverage dedicated to LTE broadcasting realized on the exhibition site, among the first in the world by size of this type.
The LTE broadcast service makes it usable video and high-definition multimedia content with an image quality even at 4K and allows, with a single stream of data transmission, to deliver to a potentially unlimited number of mobile users simultaneously watching television programs and audiovisual at busy contexts as an arena for concerts, a stadium, a plaza or a densely populated metropolitan area. The LTE Broadcast is also the best way to offer customers an even more advanced service and simultaneously follow multiple events of a single “schedule” on your tablet or smartphone.
