Experimental activity (completed)

Experimentation of the coexistence of Radio Link services and LTE in the 3.6-3.7 GHz band

The growing demand for transmission capacity for mobile access has led in recent years public administrations to consider new ways of spectrum management, which include sharing between different services and operators. At the invitation of the Italian Ministry of Economic Development we have participated and contributed to a field experiment aimed at assessing the problems of interference eventually suffered by Fixed Services (Radio Links for TV contribution / distribution) by LTE services in the 3.6-3.7 GHz band.

Active project

Rai Remote Controller

The red button on Rai channels

The Rai Remote Control is an interactive application to DVB MHP standard: available on digital terrestrial platforms (DTT) and satellite (tivùsat), has the aim to aggregate in an easy-to-use graphical interface the Rai offer of TV channels, radio channels and interactive services for those televisions and decoders that can be connected to the internet.

Active project

Rai-LIS project

Italian sign language

A set of virtual characters, owned Rai, is currently under construction. These virtual characters are developed by adopting the latest technologies in computer graphics and landing on innovative use of platforms for the end customer.

This activity allows us to internally manage the entire new content in LIS oriented to service new scenarios generation pipeline for deaf people.

Closed project

ATLAS project

ATLAS is a research project, co-funded by the Region of Piedmont, which allowed to build a platform for the transposition of a text in Italian Sign Language in the animation of a Virtual Actor made in 3D computer graphics. The ATLAS technology therefore provides support for language translation of the signs of audiovisual content, teletext, subtitles, and Internet pages, allowing you to convey the translated content to mobile terminals, digital televisions and web platforms.
