EBU - AIDI KICKS OFF SERIES OF VIRTUAL TOURS WITH SPOTLIGHT ON RAI'S AI WORK

The EBU AI and Data Initiative is the EBU’s cross-disciplinary exploration of AI and data in PSM, including regulatory aspects, technologies, organizational matters, skills, strategy and content developments. The AIDI Group defines the Initiative’s strategy and priorities and meets online once a month to discuss on-going work, common issues, and future opportunities. 

 

The initiative is managed by the Rai CTO Area Departments – Centre for Research, Technological Innovation and Experimentation (CRITS) and Information Technology ICT of Turin, with the support of the International Relations and European Affairs Department.

Radio evolves: New Radio Day 2017

Rai Centre for Research and Innovation of Technology presented its research on linear radio personalisation at the New Radio Day 2017 EBU event. Although linear radio represents the most popular and profitable form of radio, new ways of listening are gaining ground thanks to advent of new technologies: listening on tablets and smartphones, audio-on-demand, voice controlled devices, just to name a few of them.

New Radio Day proposes updates on the innovation work of European radios every year.

The Center for Research and Technological Innovation has attended the 4th Big Data Tech event, which took place in Milan on 12th October. The conference deals with technology and business issues related to the Big Data universe and is sponsored by prestigious industrial brands in the industry. CRIT, in collaboration with AgileLab, presented the experimental developments of the AgileRAI platform, a system for automatic and real-time annotation of video streams.
